Cait Pansegrouw is a multitalented producer and casting director that has worked across South Africa and in Brazil. She is a Durban Talents, Berlinale Talents, La Fabrique Cinema de L’Institut Francais, Durban Film Mart and EAVE Producer’s Workshop alumna. In 2018 she was also included on the Mail & Guardian’s Top 200 Young South Africans list. Cait is passionate about identifying and developing talent. Along with her business partner, Elias Ribeiro, she runs Realness – An African Screenwriter’s Residency, a Pan African initiative for emerging auteurs. Cait is a SAFTA-winner with work that has travelled to Sundance, Berlinale, Tribeca, Durban and FESPACO, to name a few. She has developed and produced projects which have received grants and accolades from some of the most prestigious institutions in the world; World Cinema Fund, Hubert Bals and ARTE/ZDF. Most recently, The Wound, which she produced and cast was selected as South Africa’s official entry for the Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film 2018; the the film made it to the December shortlist of 9 films out of a record entry of 92 foreign films. Cait’s passion for development makes her adept at fostering both projects and people and no matter the scale, she thrives on the adventure of bringing script to screen.
