Beatrice Baldacci nasce a Città di Castello nel 1993. Studia psicologia a Padova per poi trasferirsi a Roma per studiare cinema. Durante gli studi di regia e fotografia con Daniele Ciprì e Claudio Cupellini realizza il cortometraggio di finzione Corvus Corax che partecipa a numerosi festival. Nel 2017 si laurea con lode sotto la supervisione di Susanna Nicchiarelli con una tesi sul confine tra uomo e animale e l’antropomorfizzazione nel cinema. Completati gli studi si dedica al lavoro sul set e nel 2018 vince la residenza artistica Immerge realizzando il cortometraggio documentario “Un posto sicuro”. Nel 2019 vince il Premio Zavattini 18/19 con il cortometraggio autobiografico Supereroi senza Superpoteri, interamente realizzato
con footage di VHS. Supereroi senza Superpoteri viene presentato in anteprima mondiale alla 76a Mostra Internazionale del Cinema di Venezia 2019 nella sezione Orizzonti, dove vince una Menzione Speciale FEDIC come miglior cortometraggio della mostra. Attualmente lavora al suo primo lungometraggio La Tana.
Beatrice Baldacci was born in Città di Castello in the 1993. She studied psychology at Padova University and then she moved to Rome to study Cinema at Rome University of Fine Arts. During the film directing and cinematography courses with Daniele Ciprì, Susanna Nicchiarelli and Claudio Cupellini, she realized the fiction short film Corvus Corax which participates in many festivals. In 2017 she graduated with honors with a degree thesis about the border between animals and human beings and anthropomorphism in the cinema. Once she’s completed her studies, she worked on some movies’ sets and in 2018 she won the artistic residence Immerge and she realized the documentary short film Un posto sicuro (A Safe Place).
In 2019 she won the Zavattini Award with her autobiographic documentary Superheroes without Superpowers, realized with personal VHS archive. Superheroes without Superpowers was presented in World Premiere at Orizzonti section of the 76th Venice International Film Festival and won the FEDIC best short film special mention. She’s currently working on its first film The Den.
