Luciano Zubillaga is an artist filmmaker and scholar based between Suzhou and Zhuhai, China. His major works take the form of immersive gallery based multi-screen video and single-channel audiovisual work. His work combines interdisciplinary research (particularly with art, technology and critical posthumanism) with with publicly engaged practice.
His work has been exhibited internationally, in museums —Musée du Louvre, London ICA, Whitechapel Art Gallery and the Museum of Modern Art, Buenos Aires— and film festivals —Ann Arbor, Oberhausen, BIM, BAFICI, Berlinale, Habana Film Festival among others.
Luciano is currently Associate Professor of Cinema and TV at Beijing Normal University- Hong Kong Baptist University United International College (BNU-HKBU UIC). He holds an MA from Goldsmiths College, University of London and a Ph.D. from the University of Kent, UK.
