Abigail Addison is a producer at UK arts agency Animate Projects. In the past 15 years, she has produced thematic slates of shorts for Channel 4’s Random Acts, Silent Signal, a large-scale touring art & science project that received Wellcome Trust support, and Untold Tales, micro-commissions for Instagram. She worked with Kris Hofmann from 2020 to 2022 and produced Insects & Us and arranged the UK gallery tour.
Abigail has produced several short form animated documentaries including the BAFTA nominated I’m OK by Elizabeth Hobbs, co-produced with the National Film Board of Canada and Samantha Moore’s Bloomers that won Best British Film at the London International Animation Festival and was nominated for a British Animation Award. She was Associate Producer on Richard Squires’ 2018 experimental feature documentary, DOOZY, which combined interviews, animation and archive material. Since 2018, Abigail has been a guest speaker and consultant on The Animation Workshop’s annual ANIDOX:LAB for people developing animated documentary projects including immersive experiences.
Outside of Animate, Abigail is the Training and Development Producer at Lupus Films and was the Animation Programmer at Edinburgh International Film Festival from 2020 to 2022. She has produced screening programmes and has led panel events for institutions including Austrian Culture Forum London, Japan Foundation, Vienna Shorts, and the London International Animation Festival, where she has curated the Figures in Focus programme since 2017.
