Mai Spurlock completed her undergraduate studies in Business and Fine Arts at Washington & Lee University in Lexington, VA and obtained a Master’s Degree in Ancient History from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. She co-wrote the short film DOWN IN NUMBER 5, which won a 2010 Student Academy Award, as well as the feature script THE WHISPERING GIANT, which was selected for the 2012 IFP Emerging Narratives Program as well as the Emerging Visions Program. The script was recently selected for NYU’s Purple List. She has also produced three award-winning short films, AFTERNOON, FISH, and UTA, both directed by her sister Kim Spurlock.
Mai is currently co-writing a web series with her sister that they will produce in December 2012. She resides in Los Angeles, California.
