Verena Kuri, born 1979, studied direction at the Universidad de Cine in Buenos Aires. Her short films Epecuén (2011) and Apparition (2011) were presented at various festivals in Europe and Latin America, such as the BAFICI, London BFI Festival and Huesca Film Festival, most recently winning the Film School Prize CibaCilect at the Festival de Cinema Latino-Americano de São Paulo for Epecuén. Her film, Panambí, was awarded the regional development award Raymundo Gleyzer by the Argentine Film Institute, INCAA. In 2013, her project, Quimilí (previously titled Lithe) was featured at the Script Station at the Berlinale Talent Campus. She is cofounder of the Nabis Filmgroup created in 2012 and lives as a freelance filmmaker and producer in Buenos Aires.
