Tom Wilson graduated Oxford University with a 1st class Honours degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics. Upon graduating, he moved to Romania, where he worked as a journalist for Time Magazine, The Economist, The Guardian, The Independent, and Dazed & Confused, among others. He began shooting short documentary films for the BBC, the Times, and commercial clients. His first short film, Before the Fall, screened in Bucharest’s National Museum of Contemporary Art, and was seen by 10,000 spectators. His first feature, The Bucuresti Experiment, was made without a production company on a budget of €250, and won Romania’s National Film Award (Gopo) for Best Documentary in 2014. It has also been screened in international festivals (Milano, Leeds, Portugal) and at world-famous theatres (The Lincoln Centre New York) across Europe and the USA.
