Marcela Ursu (producer) studied Sociology and Psychology at “Al. I. Cuza” University in Iasi before becoming location manager and postproduction coordinator for Corneliu Porumboiu’s first feature, “12:08 East of Bucharest”, winner of Camera D’Or and Europe Cinema Label in Cannes Film Festival, 2006. In 2007, Marcela attended ECAFIC – European Certificate in Financing and Distributing of Audiovisual Products at L’Institut National et l’Audiovisuel in Sorbonne University, Paris and then in 2008, EAVE – European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs, Luxembourg. She became the Executive Producer of Porumboiu’s second feature, “Police, Adjective” and was part of 42 KM FILM as the main producer since then, for the following 2 features (“When Evening Falls on Bucharst or Metabolism”, “The Treasure”) and 1 documentary film (“The Second Game”) until now. In 2010, Marcela co-produced “The Belly of the Whale”, the debut medium length film of Ana Lungu and Ana Szel. At the moment, Marcela Ursu is the producer of “Dogs”, the debut feature of Bogdan Mirica which will be shot this summer and she is working on the development of “Gomera”, Porumboiu’s 5th fiction feature.
