I have been working as a producer for the last 5 years. I set up Candle & Bell Limited in 2013 and in 2017 it was named Top 50 Emerging Creative Companies in England, by Creative England.
In November 2017 I line produced a feature film called “Tales From the Lodge” produced by Ed Barratt at Hook Pictures, directed by Abi Blackmore and staring Johnny Vegas, Mackenzie Crook, Laura Fraser and Sophie Thompson.
In Summer 2018 I am co-producing a feature film with Hook Pictures and Stigma Films called “Muscle” by Gerard Johnson (Hyena).
I have produced 10 short films including “A Six and Two Threes” (Funded by Creative England iShorts) by Andy Berriman which screened at 20 festivals and made the long list for Best British Film at the British Independent Film Awards; “Mordechai” (funded by UK Jewish Film) by Benjamin Bee has screened at 33 festivals and made the long list for Best Short Film at the BAFTA 2018 awards. “They Live in Forests, They Are Extremely Shy” (Funded by Channel 4) by Saeed Taji Farouky screened at 6 festivals and won the Royal Television Society, North East and Borders “Best Short Form Drama” in 2018.
Between September 2017 and April 2018 I produced 5 short films: “Metroland” by Benjamin Bee, funded by Creative England iShorts 3; “STINE” a teaser for the feature film STINE by Kat Wood, funded by Creative England Emerging Talent, “Elsewhere” by Andy Berriman, funded by Creative England Alumni 2, “Strange Cities Are Familiar” by Saeed Taji Farouky, funded by Creative England Emerging Talent and the Arab Fund for Arts and Culture, and “ZERO” by The Brothers Lynch, funded by Gunpowder & Sky and Black Magic Design.
I currently have a number of feature films in development including MARWELL by Benjamin Bee, NIGHT OF BURNING PAPER by Saeed Taji Farouky, CRESENZA AND ROSA with Scattered Picutres and DEVIL’S WATER by Darlington based playwright Scott Young.
