José Pablo Escamilla is a member of Colectivo Colmena, also worked on the development and production of numerous short films such as “Playa” directed by Francisco Borrajo, selected at Berlinale68 and “Arma Blanca” directed by Mauricio
Calderon Rico selected at NYC Short Film Fest and FICM, among others.
His first feature film MOSTRO had its world premiere in the Concorso Cineasti del Presente competition during the 74th Locarno Film Fest, winning the Boccalino D’oro.
Lumbrensueño (Fire Dreaming) his next film is a coming of age comedy, received support from ALCA to attend a writing residency in Bordeaux, France and hopes to be filmed in the second half of 2022, replicating the micro budget production model of his first feature film. His feature film Godspeed Satan, was selected to participate in La Fabrique du Cinema during the 75th Cannes Film Festival.
It is currently in the financing stage and will be shot during 2023.
