Award winning filmmakers Luke Seomore & Joseph Bull explore the hidden lives on the verges of British society. They often work together under the name ’Institute for Eyes’, while Seomore composes original soundtracks. After meeting at art college in East London, their debut short film Male Caucasian premiered at Raindance in 2002, while their second short, Lost & Found: Jim Lee premiered at Edinburgh Film Festival in 2006 and subsequently toured the international film circuit. They were commissioned to produce an installation film for World Aids Day that celebrated the life of Derek Jarman. In 2009 their installation piece Forgotten Landscapes opened in the Belfry Gallery in Bethnal Green.
Isolation, their debut feature documentary premiered at Edinburgh International Film Festival in 2009. The critically acclaimed documentary toured the international festival circuit and Luke performed a live version of the soundtrack at two sell-out shows at legendary venue Roundhouse in Camden and Barbican. The film was released late July 2010 in conjunction with a nation-wide live tour through Picturehouse cinemas.
In recent years their output has expanded, producing music videos and commercial projects through production company Somesuch & Co.
