Sofía Brockenshire was born in Canada in 1988. She majored in film direction at the Universidad del Cine in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Until now, she has worked on several short films, and feature fiction and documentary projects. She wrote and directed the films Zapiola Seis (2010) and Epecuén (2011), which was featured at several film festivals worldwide, most recently winning the Film School Prize CibaCilect at the Festival de Cinema Latino-Americano de São Paulo for Epecuén. She was a participant in the Berlinale Talent Campus Script Station in 2013 and was selected for the Universidad di Tella’s Proyecto Documental program coordinated by Andrés di Tella in 2014. Quimilí is her first feature film project.
