Riccardo Baiocco has graduated at La Sapienza, University of Rome, in Film Studies (110 with honours).
Since 2017 has directed several short movies: Quella mattina a San Lorenzo; Almost Dead, short film co-directed with Giansalvo Pinocchio winner of 48 Hour Film Project, consequentially screened at the Director’s Guild of America; Esercizi di stile 2.0, a parodical ad influenced by Raymond Queneau’s experimental work; Rom-A a documentary short about the gypsy community currently in post-production.
He has also worked as assistant director in short movies (L’Urlo, Cinéma Synchrètique, Young at Heart) and ads (Run Away, winner of CONI contest).
Collaborator of Redroom, a collective of cinema students with whom has organized cultural events in Rome, such as Redroom Open House at Cinema delle Provincie, hosted by Massimiliano Bruno, and Redroom Night at Cinema Palazzo.
In 2019 has been selected at MAXXI’s Pitch in the day contest, together with Giansalvo Pinocchio, Francesco Logrippo and Giorgio Nicolai. From April 2018 to July 2019 has written several articles for online cinema magazine DassCinemag.
Starting from March 2020 is studying and collaborating as a film critic at Sentieri Selvaggi magazine.
