Nare Leone Ter-Gabrielyan is an Armenian fiction and documentary producer and filmmaker. She has been working on European co-productions since 2016 producing films in Armenia, Estonia, the UK, and Portugal.
The first short film Nare produced is an art-house film-noir Taniel (2018), narrated by Sean Bean. The film had screenings at more than 20 festivals with 14 awards.
Currently, Nare is working on a number of documentary and fiction films telling compelling human stories and is committed to empowering female voices through her production company Fermata Film Studio. Nare’s projects have been supported by the national funds and TVs in Armenia, France, Belgium; and were pitched at CPH:DOX, IDFA, DOK Leipzig, EAVE Change, Drama International FF, among others.
Nare advocates for the use of pictorialism and art references in cinema. Her article on the elements of Frontality in S. Parajanov’s “The Colour of Pomegranates” was published in Avanca Scientific Journal in October 2021.
The most recent short that Nare produced is It Takes a Village… directed by Ophelia Harutyunyan. The Good Deed is the second producer/director collaboration between Nare and Ophelia.
