Mary is Happy, Mary is Happy won two awards at the 11. StarPics Thai Film Awards, organized by the Thai magazine Starpics Magazine. Nawapol Thamrongrattanarit won the award for Best Director, and the movie won the award for Best Production Design as well. Mary is Happy, Mary is Happy is also nominated for 10 Thailand National Film Awards: best picture, director, screenplay, actress, supporting actress, production design, costume design, cinematography, editing and original score.

Mary is Happy, Mary is Happy, directed by Thamrongrattanarit and produced by Aditya Assarat, is one of the three finalists of the first edition of Biennale College – Cinema. It world premiered at the 2013 Venice International Film Festival, then it screened all over the world in several festivals: Busan, Valdivia, Tokyo, Turin, Taipei (Best Movie, Netpac competition), Rotterdam.

It was in Thai theatres from November 28th 2013 until the beginning of February 2014. It had a huge success for a limited release, becoming a true indie phenomenon and gathering more than one million baths at the box office during its first month out in theatres.
