Marco Pellegrino was born in Novara on 10/13/1984, graduated in Milan with a thesis on Ermanno Olmi’s Cinema and moved to Rome to attend the courses of Direction and Screenplay at the Griffith European Academy, under the guidance of Alberto Crespi, Marco Pontecorvo, Alessandro Colizzi and Roberto Benvenuti. He made his first short films between 2008 and 2009 winning the “Free Prize” at the Efebo Corto Festival in Castelvetrano (TP) with a film entitled “Come un pesce”, starring the Palermo actor Giacomo Civiletti. In the same years he wrote the screenplay for “Life and the city of the dead”, a short film selected for the David di Donatello 2009 Festival. He worked in parallel as assistant director and assistant Casting, collaborating in various Italian films and TV series of international importance, including which “Habemus Papam” by Nanni Moretti, “La Passione” by Carlo Mazzacurati, “To Rome with love” by Woody Allen, “Hands inside the city” by Alessandro Angelini, “Sheep in the grass” by Alberto Caviglia, “Brutti and bad guys “by Cosimo Gomez and” A private matter “by Paolo and Vittorio Taviani. In the meantime, he keeps his passion for music alive by directing numerous video clips of Italian bands and songwriters, among which Lucio Dalla, Colombre, Giovanni Truppi, Ministri, Piero Pelù, La Municipàl stand out. He collaborates as a musician and singer in the making of a disc of I Quartieri, recording a song entitled “9002″, inserted in the soundtrack of the television series “Suburra” of 2017. Also in 2017 he publishes a disc entitled “You are here” with the stage name Nonpellegrino, obtaining the prize for best video clip at the Seeyousound Piemonte festival, with the song “Piramidi”. Between 2015 and 2017 he wrote his first novel entitled “The son of the frogs”, published on March 14, 2018 by the Bompiani publishing house. In April 2018 he made a short film entitled “Moths to flame” starring David Menkin and David W. Callahan, presented for the world premiere at the Rome Film Festival in the official Alice Nella Città 2018 section, winner of the STUDIO UNIVERSAL 2018 award and of the NASTRO D’ARGENTO 2019, as best short film.
