Valerie Steinberg is a producer based in Los Angeles, who develops projects with fierce visions and strong talent, and leverages a global network of accomplished creatives to build films from idea to screen. She is the lead producer of the feature film Karmalink (dir. Jake Wachtel), a Cambodian “Buddhist sci-fi” currently in post-production. She is an Executive Producer of the upcoming feature Beast (dir. Riley Keough and Gina Gammell), as well as the Consulting Producer of Ash Mayfair’s Vietnamese period drama feature The Third Wife (TIFF award winner; three-time 2020 Independent Spirit Award nominee). Further producer credits include Blocks (dir. Bridget Moloney; Sundance, SXSW 2020), Hair Wolf (dir. Mariama Diallo; 2018 Sundance Jury Award winner for US Fiction Short Film), Fry Day (dir. Laura Moss; world premiere SXSW 2017; Tribeca Film Festival award winner), Coffee Shop Names (dir. Deepak Sethi; Soho House; Sun Valley winner 2020), Freeze (dir. Maya Albanese; SeriesFest winner 2020), Metronome (in Time) (dir. Scott Lochmus; Tribeca 2019), Bug Bite (dir. Emily Ann Hoffman; AFI FEST; Palm Springs 2019), and Everybody Dies! (dir. Nuotama Bodomo; SXSW 2016; HBO’s Random Acts of Flyness). She has been selected for the 2020 Venice Biennale Cinema College, 2019 Film Independent Producing Lab and Fast Track, 2019 Tribeca All Access program, and 2018 Hong Kong Asia Film Financing Forum. Valerie earned her BA in Philosophy and Chinese at Yale University.
