Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1986, Marcelo Grabowsky is a screenwriter and director working with Film and Theatre. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Social Communication from PUC-Rio University. In 2011, he created the production company Mirada Filmes, with his partners Aline Portugal and Julia De Simone, working as writer, director and producer in several projects. He directed the short fiction films “Privates Photos” (2020) and “Chlorine” (2014), and the feature documentary “Witness 4” (2011). His works have been in festivals like New York Film Festival, Frameline, Palm Springs ShortFest, Curtas Vila do Conde and Cinélatino de Toulouse among others. He is currently in post-production of a new short, “Hotel Room”. As a screenwriter he was part of the Sam Spiegel International Film Lab with “Sisters” (awarded with the Emerging Filmmaker Award), by Mariana Brennand, and part of the creative hubs of the FSA (Audiovisual Sector Fund), for Anavilhana production company, coordinated by Cao Guimarães, for Matizar production company, coordinated by Lucas Paraizo, and for Inflamável production company, coordinated by Karim Ainoüz.
