Ryan co-founded Paper Moon Films in 2009 with producer Nick Case to increase the visibility of emerging artists and shepherd their projects from development through production and distribution. Ryan collaborated with Matteo Servente on his feature film debut THE ROMANCE OF LONELINESS with co-director Sarah Ledbetter. Paper Moon’s first feature, Kentucker Audley’s OPEN FIVE, was listed on the ‘Top 25 Films of 2010’ by The New Yorker Magazine. Paper Moon’s second production was Martha Stephens’ PILGRIM SONG, which premiered in Narrative Competition at the 2012 South by Southwest Film Festival and was awarded the ‘Best Southern Film’ from Oxford American Magazine. The latest production is Robert Machoian & Rodrigo Ojeda-Beck’s FORTY YEARS FROM YESTERDAY, which premiered in Narrative Competition at the 2013 Los Angeles Film Festival and International Premiere at the 2013 Locarno Film Festival.
Prior to forming Paper Moon Films, Ryan Watt was an Executive Producer on DAYLIGHT FADES, distributed internationally including Hulu in USA and Lionsgate Home Entertainment in the UK. Securas Consulting Group acquired his technology firm Metro Backup in 2006, where he served as Director of Marketing until late 2008. Ryan also serves as the Director of Marketing at New School Media Group, producing music videos, corporate videos and social media content.
