Seher Latif is an independent producer and casting director based in Mumbai. She started her career as a Production Associate and worked on numerous television commercials at the highly regarded ad film production house White Light Moving Picture Company Private Limited. She has independently produced a Hindi language short “Taala Aur Chaabi” in 2010 and has produced a widely watched and critically acclaimed trilingual (English-Hindi and Marathi) musical stage production of Rudyard Kipling’s ‘The Jungle Book” in 2012. The show continues its run in various cities in India and Dubai having completed over 35 shows. As a casting director she has worked on a variety of films – large studio productions like Sony Columbia’s “Eat Pray Love”, Kathryn Bigelow’s Oscar-nominated spythriller “Zero Dark Thirty”, the modest but surprise Fox Searchlight worldwide hit “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel” helmed by Oscar-nominated British director John Madden, Walt Disney’s upcoming film directed by Craig Gillespie titled “Million Dollar Arm” among others, and joyously Indian independent films like “The Monsoon Shootout” directed by Amit Kumar, “Gandhi of the Month” directed by Kranti Kanade with Harvey Keitel and most recently Ritesh Batra’s intimate and endearing film “The Lunchbox” that premiered at the Cannes International Film Festival 2013 to rave reviews. She is currently developing a hybrid documentary with director Ritesh Batra titled “A Place in The Future”.
