Andrés Jarach is an award winning filmmaker. (Input San Francisco 2005, RIDM Montreal 2008, Documenta Madrid 2010, FIGRA new Media 2013)
Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, he studies visual anthropology at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (E.H.E.S.S) in Paris. During his studies he works as assistant director on feature films and documentaries. Since 1998, Andrés directed feature TV and online documentary. For TV he has directed, to name a few: Tribuna Especial, a day at the races (1998), One week in Buenos Aires (2002), Smoking Kills (2004), Parmiggiano (2006), The Last Rodeo (2008), El Gaucho (2009), Green Thumbs (2010), and the ABC of Man (2015), Draw-me Saint Exupéry (2016). Online : Modern Couple, for ARTE (2012) which was adapted for television in 2013. My Proust’s Madeleine and Continuidad for Radio France New Media (2013), Check-In for ARTE 2014), Generation 14 for France 3 and the Figaro.fr (2014) He was member of the CNC (Centre National du Cinéma) New Media Funds for Interactive and VR works and is member of the New media Commission at the SCAM (Société Civil d’Auteurs Multimédia). Andrés is also working on an interactive VR project about Collective memories, called Replay Memories, selected at IDFA FORUM 2016 and a VR experience 1,2,3 Brueghel produced by Arte France about the Pieter Bruegel painting Kinderspiele. Pierre Gagnaire – Destiny will be his first VR film.
